Leahy's Picture of the Day
I'm sharing my personal walk through life as a photographer and human being. Some days are more exciting than others, but when you take a close look at the world everyday, each day starts looking more incredible

Running the Court
Marcus had fun playing basketball over the last few years, but he's always been able to run faster and longer than everyone else...

Washington Open
Washington Open Gymnastics Meet, at University of Washington. It was fun to visit UW and Blake did a great job in his first level 5 meet. He scored 80.5 points, and was 2nd on his team. His high score on the day was 14.8 on the vault.

Syncline for Mags (I hope!)
I shot a bit while we rode a pretty cool trail near White Salmon. These are examples of two different "presets" in Aperture.
Yukon Do It Marathon 2011
I was the official race photographer. It's a very scenic marathon, and having a history in running, I really love photographing this event. Lot's of really great moments and awesome backdrops. Karen ran and we spent the weekend there.

Port Orchard
The boys were really great in hanging out while Karen ran the Half Marathon and I photographed the races at Yukon Do It Marathon. I almost got my car towed because I parked on the course in front of a fire hydrant! I quickly moved when the tow truck came up!

Couple on the Run
This was a present for Karen. Jerry gave this to me over the Summer, I must have sent it to him when it was published back in '96! I really love the picture because it captures who we are perfectly.
Wicket & Golden Lion Tamarin
Blake's favorite animal, since he did a report on it, is the Golden Lion Tamarin. He got a stuffed animal version for Christmas.

Standard Shot of Mt. Rainier (for me)
This is my standard location for a Mt. Rainier shot. It's close to home. This is shot with Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 and preset filter applied in Aperture.

Mary Saviers
The boys with Great Grandma Saviers. In talking to her she told me how she met Gerry, she was 15 and standing with a friend and he came up and whistled at her (he knew her friend). They were married when she was 16, and had Kathy when she was 17!
Made in Switzerland
Blake got this for Karen for Christmas because it reminded us of our Germany/Switzerland trip we have planned in the Summer to visit Hauke, Karin, Gerald and Annette.

One of My Favorites
This is one of my favorite things hanging on the wall at my parents house. Pictures of my Dad and his brothers, and my Grandpa Pat and I. Grandma Clara is in there as well. This blog is a diary in a sense for me, I also like to record some things that I see, pictures and the such, so I have a version of them to remember and see when I want to.
Thomas
This is Thomas the cat! I got him from Jerry when I was in Kindergarten. He was incredibly acrobatic. He caught a pheasant in the front yard once. He liked to sit on your lap and purr.
Leo Rubow
Leo is my Dad's uncle, Grandma Clara Leahy's brother. He's been a longtime family friend and is always in a cheerful mood. He is 82 and doing well. It was great to see him.
Mom and Dad
from Christmas. These Christmas pictures are done with a SB800 on remote with Pocket Wizards. Dark house makes this a must! Pretty easy too.
